Heard a joke today about that:

One year for Lent, I gave up guilt.  That worked so well, the next year I gave up Christianity.

Self fulfilling prophecy.  If we think it does, it does.

I certainly know that it slows me way down.  If I see the full moon, I stop to look at it and take a deep breath and decide, for the umpteenth time, to be an astronaut if I grow up.
